DJI Ronin 4D 8K Cinema Camera
The DJI Ronin 4D 8K is a cinema camera with a combination of features unmatched by any other camera system. The Ronin 4D integrates DJI’s industry-leading camera stabilization technologies with a powerful full frame cinema camera sensor. The Ronin 4D is designed as an all-in-one system. From the 4-axis stabilization to LiDAR-powered focusing options, the 4D integrates multiple technologies that would require complex, bulky, and expensive additions on other cinema camera rigs.
With battery, grip, handle, monitor, and media, it weighs under 11 pounds, due to the magnesium alloy construction. For applications where minimizing weight is ideal, the optional DJI Flex system allows for the camera body to be separated from the lens/sensor/3-axis gimbal by up to 2 meters. This makes the system exceptionally well-suited as a remote head, as well as allowing handheld camera operators to move the majority of the weight onto their back and out of their hands.
The image from the Ronin 4D 8K is remarkable, with fantastic dynamic range. Industry-standard recording options including ProRes RAW and ProRes HQ, making the camera easy to integrate into any workflow. Some productions may miss some connectivity options. XLR inputs, timecode input, and SDI output are only available with an optional DJI Ronin 4D Expansion Plate.
The Ronin 4D can be powered by the included TB50 battery, or can be configured to operate using 24V external DC power. Our initial testing suggests budgeting one TB50 battery for every 70 minutes of run time, with each battery taking approximately 90 minutes to charge from 0-100%.
As with all cinema cameras, we strongly encourage scheduling a prep day to ensure that the camera system will work with your lenses, accessories, and meet your production needs.
