EyeDirect MKII
The EyeDirect Mark II allows an interview subject to maintain eye-contact with the camera while also looking directly at the interviewee, using a simple mirror and window combination. It’s the essential tool for interviews where the subject needs to look down the barrel of the lens. The interviewer can also make direct eye contact.
The EyeDirect Mk II can be configured with the interviewer on either side of the camera. The balance plate allows for 18″ of adjustment front to back. The EyeDirect is entirely passive and requires no power or other cables. The maximum field of view will vary depending on the camera and settings, but is typically around 45 degrees. Much like a teleprompter, the 50/50 beamsplitter reduces the light reaching the camera by approximately one stop.
The included tablet bracket allows the EyeDirect to also be used as a teleprompter, when paired with tablets with a screen size up to approximately 10″. When packed, the EyeDirect with case weighs about 14 pounds, and the case is 22″ x 15″ x 9″.
