Hollywood Black Magic filters from Schneider are our most popular optical diffusion filter rentals. Known for their gentle blooming highlights and exceptionally flattering skintones, the Hollywood Black Magic filters are most often paired with modern lenses when the cinematographer wants a less clinical, more romantic image. These filters are the popular 4″ x 5.65″ (Panavision) size, and are designed to be used in a standard matte box filter tray.
We stock the HBMs in strengths of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1. Each is 400mm thick and weighs approximately 200 grams.
