Zeiss Planar/Distagon Lenses
Zeiss ZE/ZF Planar/Distagon Lenses are a fantastic combination of performance, lightweight size, and affordability. Featuring high-quality Zeiss optics, these primes punch well above their weight, getting cinematic results even on lightweight builds.
Designed originally for still photography, the manual-focus Zeiss lenses have become quite popular for video and hybrid shooters. The EF mount versions (The ZE-series) have electronic iris control, the F-mount versions (ZF-series) can be controlled using the f-stop ring. The 50mm and 100mm Macro or “Makro-Planar” is an excellent option for getting cinematic extreme close-ups.
