The Aputure Storm 1200x is the latest point-source LED light in Aputure’s growing lineup. Offering 1200 watts of tunable white output, including green/magenta shift, the Aputure 1200x is a highly versatile fixture both on location and in studio.
The Aputure Storm 1200x offers output comparable to traditional larger fixtures like a 1200w HMI or 2500w tungsten fresnel. Unlike those fixtures, the precise color temperature can be tuned from 2500K to 10,000K, eliminating the need for gels. While many LED lights blend two sets of emitters (warm and cool) to reach different color temperatures, this design causes spikes in green and magenta. The additional control of G/M on the Storm 1200x compensates for this, allowing a perfect match to nearly any interior lamp or outdoor condition. Additionally, SSI scores are exceptional, at 87 for both tungsten and D56 settings, rendering natural and accurate colors far exceeding those from HMI lamps (and even marginally outperforming the Aputure XT26).Control is available through all the methods Aputure users have come to expect. The Storm 1200x supports Sidus Link, the mobile device app that lets users control hundreds of fixtures wirelessly. The light also supports wired DMX-512, CRMX, EtherCON, and can be controlled from the included ballast/control box.The Aputure Storm 1200 is powered by AC power only, drawing up to 1440w. It can be powered with a standard 15A/20A household circuit.In addition to the standard Aputure Storm 1200x kit, your rental includes the 1200x narrow and medium reflectors, in a reflector carrying case.
