1k PAR can light
The 1000 watt PAR 64 can has been around so long, no one is even sure when it was invented. It was made popular on theatrical and touring shows in the 1970s and 80s, and came to have a special place in film and video production, as well. While the 1K PAR 64 may lack the features of more modern lights, it more than makes up for it with substantial output at an affordable price. The PAR can has sometimes been called a parcan, parblazer, or beamlight.
The number 64 refers to the lamp diameter (in eighths of an inch), making the PAR 64 an 8-inch bulb. PAR stands for “Parabolic Anodized Reflector” which is integrated into the lamp, and comes in various configurations for controlling beam width. The can length isn’t for controlling the beam spread, but rather for adding enough distance between the lamp and the gel to reduce melting/burning.
Our 1K PAR can lights all include an adjustable yoke and a cable with 120v edison plug. They are available in very narrow, narrow, medium, and wide beam widths (the different reflectors are integrated into each lamp). Gel frames and mounting adapters (TVMP or Pipe Clamps) are available on request. We stock 1K Par 64 cans and lamps from a variety of manufacturers, so your rental may vary slightly from the product photos.
